Yapta’s Valerie Layman Named One of the Top 40 Women in Travel by WINiT

We’ve got reason to celebrate here at Yapta! Valarie Layman, Yapta’s Chief Product and Services Officer, has been named one of the Top 40 Women in Travel by WINiT, a GBTA-backed professional network serving as a catalyst for the upward career mobility of women in travel-related industries.

We’ve long known that Valerie was one of the top women in travel – but now it’s official! Valerie will be honored at the 2019 WINiT Awards Gala to be held at the Grand Hyatt in New York City on November 7th. The inaugural Gala will celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of all 40 of the exceptional women named to WINiT’s list. The award winners are those that are reinventing, leaning in and creating momentum that will have an impact beyond their own community and field.

Valerie, Yapta’s longest-tenured employee, has over 20 years of experience developing and executing product and software strategies to help companies manage and grow their business in both the emerging and Fortune 500 markets. Prior to serving Yapta, Valerie was Director of Product Management at Orbitz’ corporate travel division. Prior to that, she spent 9 years as a process and delivery consultant for Accenture.

In 2019, Valerie and her Yapta product team spearheaded the development and release of three significant travel management products:

  • Yapta’s TravelAI hotel analytics, using real-time hotel availability data and machine learning to identify areas where companies can save on travel.
  • Automated hotel rebooking, the corporate travel industry’s first truly touchless hotel rebooking technology committed to zero traveler impact.
  • TravelAI hotel version 2.0, the managed travel industry’s most advanced prescriptive hotel analytics solution.

Through Valerie’s leadership, vision and industry knowledge, corporate travel professionals are able to use Yapta’s FareIQ and RoomIQ dynamic price assurance technology to reduce travel program costs, and TravelAI performance analytics to optimize supplier negotiations and policy compliance.

Way to go Valerie! We’re proud of you!
