Yapta Enhances Hotel Rate Tracking Service by Partnering with Leading Hotel Reservation Agency
Seattle – July 30, 2010 – Yapta.com, the airfare tracking and hotel rate tracking service, today announced that it has integrated hotel search results from Booking.com, and is now able to track hotel prices on a much broader selection of properties. Using Yapta’s enhanced hotel rate tracking service, travelers can monitor pricing on over 196,000 domestic and international properties and be alerted via email when prices drop.
Unlike “opaque” accommodation booking services that do not allow travelers to see the specific hotel property they are bidding on, Yapta enables travelers to designate the hotel they are most interested in and be automatically alerted when the rate drops – or when it reaches a desired price point. Yapta diligently checks for the lowest published rate of a tracked hotel and reports decreases to the traveler with a custom email that links them to the savings opportunity.
“Adding hotel content from Booking.com will only increase the savings opportunities that Yapta can deliver to travelers,” said Tom Romary, president and CEO of Yapta. “It will also give more hoteliers another channel to market lower prices to an audience of highly qualified travel shoppers and increase conversion. No matter how you slice it, hotel rate tracking is a win-win for both the consumer and supplier.”
Yapta launched its hotel rate tracking service in March 2009 and has since monitored pricing on hundreds-of-thousands of hotel properties for travelers. To date, Yapta has alerted travelers to more than $350 million in savings.
“Partnering with Yapta not only broadens the distribution of our hotels content, but it also gives travelers a better opportunity to comparison shop and get the best deal on their hotel,” said Jacob Kivett, Affiliate Sales Manager, North America from Booking.com. “Our goal is simply to provide business and leisure travelers with an efficient and cost-effective way to book hotel accommodations – and Yapta helps us achieve that.”
